I’m packing up, grabbing the big grey dog and heading to Chicago this weekend for a shower with my hometown friends and family. I am so, so excited to see everyone and hopefully they’re not too bummed to miss out on green beer…
Catch you next week!

The countdown to carpet install is ON around the Erickson house and I’m starting to keep an eye out for details to finish the space. These little numbers from Walmart, of all places, just might make the cut for the guest room!

Last Friday was spent alongside a dear friend of mine meal prepping the night away! It. Was. Awesome. And one of the many goodies I was sent home with was a big bag of pre-made cookie dough scooped into perfect cookie portions (I may have eaten a couple raw on the way home…oops!). After yesterday’s funk I think tonight calls for busting a few of those out for a proper baking and glass of milk.

Holy smokes, did I feel off today. Between being almost 31 weeks pregnant, some odd stomach bug and a dash of anxiety, I’m a mess. Time to re-charge, grab the grey dog for some cuddles and lay low for an evening. Here’s hoping for a better tomorrow.

How’s daylight savings treating you today, friends? Maybe I should ask again in 12 or so hours? It’s been a wild weekend around here. I have one baby shower under my belt and it was absolutely lovely! In-between those festivities, we’ve been visiting with family, chipping away at house projects and trying to find room for all the baby stuff. These little buggers are spoiled already (Exhibit A)! Today is round two of all the same adventures and I am so, so excited. Enjoy these links from around the web while I start working on thank you notes. We’ve got a lot to be thankful for!
One thing is certain: our house is not ready for two babies to arrive. BUT, we’re doing our best and after the next couple weekends of baby showers I’m sure we’ll feel a lot more prepared, potentially a bit overwhelmed and definitely perplexed as to how two small humans can require so much stuff. If I had to guess, I think we’ll also be feeling insanely lucky and loved. I’ve got two showers this weekend and another next weekend so the fun is just getting started! See you on the other side, friends.

I’ve become a person that wears slippers at home 90% of the time. I’m going to go back a few generations and blame my grandpa for the influence. He always wore his ‘slip slips’ around the house and I think he was definitely onto something.

For the record, my Weimaraner hardly sits still for longer than two seconds…

After a lot of hype, the storm they’ve been talking about for a week has descended upon Minnesota! It seems every activity has been cancelled and folks are hunkering down for the snow, rain, ice, and wind. I see some house work, hot chocolate and time with a book on the agenda for us this evening. The shoveling can wait for tomorrow.

Holy smokes, I knew we were going to be busy this weekend but I can’t believe how many hours the Red Head, my sister, friends and family put in. We are so, so lucky and so, so thankful. Between all of us there was taping and mudding of Sheetrock, priming of walls and ceilings, paintings of walls and ceilings, assembly of bassinets and strollers, building of more walls, fireplace stone scrubbing, cleaning of dust, mopping of dust, sanding and creating more dust… It was wild and we’re through the thick of it (I hope). Now we’ll keep chipping away at the to-do list and counting down the days until carpet arrives on the 24th. There’s a light at the end of the basement re-model. It’s faint but it’s there. Can you see it?! Enjoy these links from the web while we fall into a serious Sunday night slumber.
